My first blog post on this site!

Wow, I'm excited to start a blog. Patches will be giving me some advice I'm sure! Thought I'd talk a little about my Patches character. Patches is our Tennessee hound and I wrote The Stinkaroo Dog and the Forbidden Portal with him in mind. However, Patches is a character that is actually a blend of all the dogs I've loved and admired! We had dogs when I was growing up, and I've owned and loved dogs since I married. Each pup was a little different and had different adventures. My Patches stories compile my experiences with dogs. Not all of Patches' adventures are true, real-life adventures for one dog, and, some of the stories I've written about Patches are imagined as my kids love to help me make up adventures for Patches! Hoping to have another book out soon. I had some setbacks last year which have delayed my next book. My publisher closed its doors and we had a difficult year with the loss of my father in law. I'll be posting here about my coming projects! So glad you're here with me!
