Making Dump Cake! Great for days when you are snowed in! We usually have all these ingredients in our pantry.

You can experience making this vicariously through my photos in case you don't want to make it yourself! Still I'm sure you will want some of this delicious easy dessert by the time you get to the last frame! I decided to load photos after I posted the recipe earlier.

Some of you will note that the photos include an odd mix of ingredients: Pecans from HEB, a grocery store exclusive to TX; Kroger boxed cake mix from TN (Krogers are scarce in the Raleigh area); Fruit pie filling from FOOD LION (very common in NC as Smithfield is a very small town and it has 3 of them). That's the story of my life lately, travelling between 3 states! We usually stop in LA on the way back from TX for Delaware Punch. Never been to Delaware.

Ingredient list:

1 can pie filling (Strawberry, cherry, blueberry, or canned fruit cocktail works).

1 21 oz can crushed pineapple undrained

1 box of cake mix (butter flavor, yellow or white)

6 oz margarine, butter, oil or combination margarine and oil

1/2 cup of chopped nuts (Opt.)

shredded coconut (Opt)

Set that temperature on the oven to about 400 degrees.

Pour the pie filling into a 9x13 greased pan. I used two bread loaf pans as my kitchen in NC is not stocked very well!

Then just spoon in the pineapple, undrained.

Dump the cake mix on top.

I used a combination of canola oil and soy-free margarine.

Melt the margarine and pour the oil on top of the cake mix.

Then add those optional ingredients if desired: nuts and flakes of coconut. We only put coconut in one pan.

Then pop it in the oven at about 400 degrees for 40 minutes.

Yummy dessert! Great with Snow Cream!

SNoW CreaM: Big bowl of snow. Add SWEETened condensed milk and vanilla. Stir and serve. (or use 1/2 cup of sugar and almond milk or coconut milk).
