The last illustration for The Historical TeXaS Trail Trip is done. Patches just needs to spots and the drawing needs to be traced and inked. Great read for reluctant readers. Three syllable words are divided into syllables. Excerpt below:
>> Sam led us back to the picnic table... We got there just in time to see ducks and geese tearing open some bags and eating our sandwiches. Sam yelled, and I started barking. One of the geese was up on the table. The birds just ignored us until I jumped up on the bench and got a clump of tail feathers.... Sam and I chased the ducks as I barked: “Next time, I’ll use your fluff to stuff a cushion, you ducks. What have you got for brains, feathers? Don’t come round here no more!” I trotted back to the table expecting to be con-grat-u-lat-ed on my work. Mom and Dad had just arrived and the scene at the table wasn’t pretty. Grape soda spewed in every di-rec-tion. Soggy purple sandwiches lay in the dirt and the dis-col-ored mud. An open chip bag lay tumbled on the ground. But did Mom thank me? No. Mom was very unhappy.
“Just look at this mess! I thought you two were supposed to keep an eye on the food,” said the Mom-Chief. She held us re-spon-si-ble! ..........

I was cov-er-ing my face with my paws waiting for the worst. Was Mom going to make me skip lunch? Would Sam have to give up his dessert or be banned from video games?
