Your child can color an art page created by Lea Beall. The drawing is called "First Friends of Spring" and features a young rabbit and a singing frog near a pond. Tips on coloring include leaving a small white margin around each character, the rabbit and the frog. The eye won't see the white area but it will set off the animals from the rest of the drawing. For large areas that are colored solid, use strokes with a crayon or pencil that are all in one direction. Vary the grass tones by using a darker shade over the jagged grass marks and flower leaves. For the water, use a darker blue for the ripple lines.
